The next CIA drama “Lioness,” written and produced by Taylor Sheridan, will star Oscar-winning actor Nicole Kidman.
The new programme is “based on a real-life CIA programme and follows Cruz Manuelos (Laysla De Oliveira), a rough-around-the-edges but passionate young Marine recruited to join the CIA’s Lioness Engagement Team to help bring down a terrorist organisation from within,” according to The Hollywood Reporter, a US-based entertainment news source.
The CIA’s senior supervisor Kaitlyn Meade, who has a lengthy history of playing the political game, will be portrayed by Kidman.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, in her role as Kaitlyn, she must balance the responsibilities of being a wife who yearns for the attention she herself can’t even provide and a guide to someone who is treading alarmingly close to the same difficult path she has found herself on.
In the meantime, Zoe Saldana will play Joe, the Lioness program’s station head in charge of instructing, supervising, and directing her female covert agents.
According to Variety, Sheridan, David C. Glasser, Saldana, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Jill Wagner, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Malone, and John Hillcoat will all work as executive producers alongside Kidman.
