Wojciech Szczesny, the Juventus goalkeeper, was stretchered off just before halftime after landing heavily on his ankle. After missing the beginning of the season due to injury, he had only recently started playing again over the weekend.
After two straight draws in Serie A, the Bianconeri sought to break their losing streak. At the weekend’s 1-1 draw with Roma, Vlahovic had given his team the lead with a free kick early in the game. At the Allianz Stadium, he repeated the feat in a very similar manner with a curling shot into the upper right corner.
